Things to do in Savannah

Stroll Through the Squares

  You'll definitely want to stroll through Savannah's squares.  A good place to start is the 10-block stretch of Bull Street that begins at City Hall and ends at Forsyth Park.  From The Marshall House, it's a 2-3 minute walk to Bull Street, and then it's about a 20 minute to stroll through the beautiful squares to Forsyth Park.  You should also hop over and see Ellis Square near City Market for the Johnny Mercer monument and water feature.

Some of our most recommended activities for children in Savannah are:  Leopold's Ice Cream, The Savannah Children's museum, The Georgia State Railroad Museum, The Jepson Center, Forsyth Park --- all walkable from The Marshall House.  If you don't mind a short drive, we also recommend a visit to Oatland Island Wildlife Center and Fort Pulaski.

Tybee Island is an easily accessible barrier island rich in both history and natural beauty.  The island's three miles of uninterrupted public beach make the perfect playground for visitors looking for a little something different to experience during their stay.

Iron bridges, cobblestone streets, and sidewalks tie together a unique multilevel collection of 19th-century buildings.  Today, you'll find find a multitude of popular bars, restaurants, and shops along the riverfront.  It's one of the must-see Savannah places to visit, best known for hosting one of largest St Patrick's Day celebrations in the US, and it's just a 5-minute walk from The Marshall House.
