We enjoyed everything about the Marshall House! The service...esp valet was wonderful! The lobby was very nice with cheese and wine in the evening. The location allowed us to walk virtually everywhere in Savannah. Rooms were clean and appropriately sized. Comfortable bed and noise was minimal at most. We will def stay here again.

We found the Marshall House excellent in all ways. The location on Broughton St is perfect for walking the historic district. The service personnel were ALL helpful and very friendly. The historic nature of the hotel added extra charm to the stay. Our room was a little small by today's modern hotel standards, but was well maintained and adequately modernized. Charming old stairways and one small elevator take one to the upper floors. The covered courtyard breakfast was very good, and daily afternoon wine and cheese was a nice plus. Overall, we feel that our first visit to Savannah was greatly enhanced by our choice to stay at the historic Marshall House. We will return to this hotel on our next visit.

My husband and I just spent 2 wonderful nights at the Marshall House in Savannah and we were very pleased with their Southern Hospitality. After reading every single review on TripAdvisor we decided to try this hotel and we were not disappointed. I am a very picky travelor - I expect excellent service and extremely clean facilities no matter what the room rate and I would rate both at this hotel as excellent! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Savannah for business or vacation.

The hotel itself is a beautiful and historic property so I immediately felt immersed in the charm of Old Savannah. The location was ideal to explore the city's riverfront and historic district on foot. I loved the attention to detail from the "gas lamps" in the breakfast courtyard to effectively making use of every inch of space in my hotel room without feeling crowded. There were several amenities included that I appreciated but had never seen offered in another hotel: pre-warmed coffee mugs at the breakfast buffet; nightly turndown service that included a weather report for the next day; cotton balls and q-tips in the bathroom. The bedding was so comfortable that I slept soundly. I found plenty of choices for breakfast at the buffet. I did not get to try the complimentary wine and cheese spread during my stay as I was still out exploring in the early evenings. I found the library was a comfortable spot to relax.

Wonderful place to stay!  The room furnishings made you feel like you were staying in someone's home.  The bath was very clean.  The staff could not have been any better.  They were so friendly and helpful.  Only about 3 blocks or so from the river.  Eating breakfast in the atrium truly made you feel like you were in a very romantic place.  We highly recommend staying at this place.

Hotel was great.  Staff was very helpful and went all out to make sure you enjoyed your stay.  Very nice rooms.  Restaurant attached to hotel was excellent.  We really can't wait to come back and stay at the Marshall House on our next trip South.

It was our first trip to Savannah and we fell in love with the place.  The hotel was above our expectations, it was beautiful, with a welcoming reception area and staff who were more than happy to help you, we enquired about a tour and they booked it for us within two hours for that evening.  Our room was lovely, comfy beds, enough space, the only down side is that we didn't have a view, but to be honest we were only in the room to sleep so that really shouldn't matter!

The location is spot on, its right in the middle of the historic area and you could not got lost if you tried, the hotel is HUGE.  While in the hotel you could imagine the days when there were ladies that lunched and gentlemen who tipped their hats!

We went back to Savannah this year and found that the Marshall House is one of the most haunted hotels in Savannah and they have a log at reception of all the events that have happened.  Maybe I will get a chance to read that next time.

Our first time in Savannah and our first time at the Marshall House on 10/29/2010. What a wonderful hotel made up of the most wonderful staff. Everyone there was top shelf. They couldn't do enough for you!! My family and I will be back again to visit the awesome city of Savannah, and will only stay at one place. If you are visiting and are thinking about staying, look no further than the Marshall House!! Thank You for our stay!!

11/06/10

The best place to stay in Savannah! We can't imagine staying anywhere else when we visit! See you in December!

10/17/10

I absolutely loved the Marshall House! I've stayed in other hotels in the historical district and liked them, but they weren't available the last time I went to Savannah, so I took a chance on the Marshall House and am so glad I did!

The decor is absolutely beautiful in both the public areas and the guest rooms. The rooms feel very true to the period, with very high ceilings, crown molding, and antique furniture (desk armoire, etc.), but the bath accommodations are very modern, as is the flat screen HDTV.

The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, from the desk staff to the housekeeping folks to the doormen, who are always there to open the front door for you with a friendly greeting, whether you're coming or going.

Trust me -  you'll love this place!  Would be nice for a romantic getaway, too!

In the heart of beautiful Savannah there is beautiful Marshall House: a purpose-built charming historic hotel, with lovely old staircases and lots of character.  Rooms are nicely decorated, clean and comfortable.  As rooms with two doubles and/or balcony are pricier, we had a queen room, which was perfectly acceptable for a couple and even big for European standards.  Elegant lobby and breakfast area, very friendly and efficient staff.  Location is superb, walking distance to attractions, bars and dining options.  Excellent value for money, three-star price for four-star service and five-star charm.

08/08/10

From our arrival until our sad departure we found EVERYTHING to be outstanding.  From the valet service to check-in to questions about tours to the bellmen ... just a great, friendly stay ... would recommend to the most finnicky traveler ... can't wait to go back!!

08/01/10

Probably one, if not the, best hotels I have ever stayed in.  Room was lovely and well equipped; personnel were all friendly and knowledgeable and anxious to please; and the location couldn't have been better for our purposes.  I welcome and look forward to going back for no other reason to be in Savannah than to stay at the Marshall House!

07/15/10

The staff were very nice and helpful. The valet service was a plus.
I liked the room and being able to sit out on the balcony overlooking the main street.
The location was great becaused you were in walking distance to most everything.
The continental breakfast was good and the wine & cheese in the afternoon was great.
I liked the location, staff, and room the best.

"Do you think we can pack this bed in the truck?" that is what my wife just said as we lay in bed in our room.  I highly recommend the Marshall House.  Every part of our stay has been a great experience but the best part has been the staff.  The staff is as friendly as any I have ever experienced.  From the moment we drove up to the front door we were made to feel welcomed.  The only disappoint that we had - no ghosts.  We will be back to the Marshall House soon though so maybe they will come out then.

06/25/10

One of the highlights of my first trip to Savannah was the Marshall House.  From the moment I stepped in the lobby until check out, I was pleased.  The establishment is beautiful and the staff is professional in evey way.  Notice I said first trip, I'll be back to stay at the Marshall House.

03/19/10

I will admit that the Marshall House was my second choice of lodging, after my most recent experience it will be my first choice in the future!! The level of service was excellent. It was very apparent that the staff genuinely cared about the guests ammenities and accomodations, always willing to go the extra mile.

01/14/10

I want to thank and congratulate the Marshall House team for all your efforts to make my stay in Savannah as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.  I really appreciate the "authenticity" of the Marshall House as an internationally focused top-notch hotel in Savannah, Georgia.  In many hotels where I wake up in early morning, it takes me a couple of minutes to realize where I am: Berlin, Paris, Seattle, New York or San Diego.  Not so in Savannah's Marshall House!  The moment you open your eyes, you feel the Georgia-Savannah experience warming you up.  The friendliness of the staff, the professionalism of the Marshall Housers, the "vibrant vintage quietness" of the House and its surroundings...all elements to make you feel at home and at the same time in Savannah - far away from home!

12/15/09

The Marshall House is a historic hotel with a beautiful lobby.  The location in the middle of the historic district of Savannah is perfect.  The service was so warm and friendly that we felt like we were staying with friends.  We loved the wine and cheese in the evenings - we even played cards in the lobby to enjoy it more.  Breakfast was delicious with quiche, fruit, pastries, and more - all served in a lovely courtyard space.  We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

12/15/09

By luck I stayed at the Marshall House when they were finishing the million $$$ renovation in the 90's.  I found it to be a magical inn in a magical town.  I go back time after time.  The love and care taken in the restoration is evident.  During this latest stay, during the Christmas Holidays, the inn was decorated beautifully.  The staff is well trained and happy at work.  The bar is a lovely place to have a drink.  I slept like a baby on a very comfortable bed with premium linens and pillows.  The inn has held up over the years since the renovation.  I hope this place stays successful.

11/29/09

We stayed for two nights during the Thanksgiving holiday.  Broughton Street was closed for a special event and the front desk did a great job directing us to the back entrance.  Carlton the bellhop was very welcoming and helpful.

The room was a bit small but cozy nevertheless.  The breakfast was lovely including hot dishes such as two different quiches.  The turndown service was timely and very special each evening including lovely music playing when we entered the room.

11/29/09

It was a really nice "boutique" style hotel.  Staff was absolutely the best, the room was nice, great access to veranda on second floor...nice to sit and enjoy historic Savannah right in the heart of the old historic section.  Very quiet for being right in the thick of things.  Walking distance to River Street and all that happens in Savannah.

11/18/09

Stayed for two nights in a king balcony room.  Just to let you know you do have to step up and out the window to get on the veranda.  Loved the room, spacious with charm.  Although the hotel is on a busy street, it was just close enough from the riverfront to make walking easy and avoid the larger volume of noise and traffic.  The location was great for restaurants and other areas that were easily accessible by walking.  We enjoyed the breakfast with a good amount of choice, from eggs, muffins, to quiche.  The staff was wonderful, very pleasant and knowledgeable.  Charles at the front desk was the most polite and helpful staff member I have ever met.  Kudos to him.  I thought we got a good deal with the hotel special, and loved sitting out on the veranda.  Although there was a $15 fee for parking, valet was quick and pleasant.  I would definitely come back to this hotel, maybe not in the heat of the summer, but the fall was wonderful.  The staff at this hotel were just outstanding and really made the stay!

09/13/09

We LOVED our stay and have told everyone about it. It was an interesting stay at night with the "child" running and laughing in the hall, that really wasn't there and the strange smell of burning hair in the bathroom that would come and go.Absolutely somewhere we will stay again Everyone was so very friendly but there was a maid,I am assuming that is what she did, her name was Deloris (I believe) that gave me her nail clippers when I had torn my fingernail and it was bleeding, it was late at night and nothing near by was open. I found that to be extremely kind, not something i would normally take from someone, but I was desperate. We have nothing but good things to say about everyone there.

09/07/09

Our Niece had her wedding reception at your hotel several years ago and I was impressed with your establishment. We had a special family get together for a day and I thought this would be a nice place to stay. We had some drinks on the holiday evening and I was very impressed with your bartender. He was very attentive to our needs and my family had a wonderful time. The next time I am in Savannah I certainly will look forward to staying at the Marshall House. The only regrets we had is that we didn't see your ghost. Perhaps we need to stay a bit longer.

09/04/09

This was our second trip to Marshall House and it won't be our last! I am SO impressed by the level of service we receive and the beauty of The Marshall House. Room 420 is beautiful and surprisingly the most comfortable bed ever!!! The staff is super nice and helpful. The concierge (don't remember her name but she sounded Scottish?) was superb. She recommended some amazing restaurants that we otherwise would not have found and made the reservations for us. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding - it was SO nice to just walk downstairs for breakfast. I thank you for that extra service. The complimentary lemonade in the lobby was a super touch! I only wish the wine/cheese was available on the weekends. We were SOOOO happy with our stay. And I am also pleasantly impressed with your low room rates - please don't increase!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

08/22/09

I can't say enough good things about my stay at The Marshall House. Everything and everyone was lovely. I only wish I could rate the staff "Beyond Excellent" because, each and every single person I had the pleasure of interacting with during my stay, was indeed. Everyone was gracious, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Very nice breakfast in a beautiful setting and the evening cocktail hour was a nice touch in bringing people together. My one mild disappointment was that, although there are rumors it may be haunted, I never encountered even a hint of a ghost during my stay!

08/16/09

What a wonderful stay at the Marshall House. It was our first visit to Savannah, and without a doubt will stay in your Inns from now on when in the area!! Your bartender in the restaurant in the Marshall House was AMAZING. Not only did he manage to talk us into trying 2 new drinks, a mint julep which has become a new favorite, but managed to talk us into a bottle of wine AND scratching our dinner plans to eat in the restaurant. What a professional!! (Although I can't remember his name, he was an middle aged, man with glasses and dark hair). Another wonderful employee at your establishment that stood out was one of the bellhops. He manged to give us directions all over town and recommend local establishments! In fact, all of your employees were EXCEPTIONAL. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

08/07/09

My wife and I were very satisfied with our purchase and the time we spent at the Marshal House. We truely had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay. The entire stay and staff was fantastic! I most highly recommend the Marshal House to ANYONE who spends time in beautiful Savanah. Believe me, we intend to visit again and we plan on telling our friends and family about the Marshal House.

08/03/09

We consider ourselves southerners; however, your staff presented the utmost in southern hospitality. We were pleasantly surprised. The room and other accommodations were excellent! The location was very good for seeing the attractions of the city.

07/26/09

We absolutely loved our stay at the Marshall House. We were so pleasantly surprised when we saw how beautiful it was in person. The pictures didn't do it justice. The location was amazing and the staff couldn't have been nicer. We will stay there again and recommend it to others.

07/16/09

Morgan was very helpful in assisting us with finding restaurants and directing us through historic Savannah. Your entire staff is very welcoming and made us feel right at home from the time we pulled up to the valet parking through when we left the hotel. Southern hospitality at it's finest! We chose the hotel based on it's proximity to the Historic Tours of Savannah as well as the exceptional Innkeeper's Special! The package including wine and cheese reception and breakfast the next morning is phenomenal! We will absolutely be back to visit Savannah and stay in your gorgeous hotel!

07/06/09

This was our second stay at the Marshall House and we came back because of you friendly staff. The bellman Armando is fantastic. He took care of us on our previous trip and he always goes above and beyond. The young lady who checked us in, I don't remember her name, was also very helpful the entire trip. We love your hotel and will return.

06/27/09

The Marshall House is wonderful! The hospitality cannot be beat -- the staff are amazing! The Concierge Sheila was wonderful and very helpful. She assisted me in arranging a birthday greeting upon arrival with super short notice, and it was very well done and well received! The services and events such as the evening wine and cheese were way beyond great. I just can't gush enough! Its become my favorite hotel, and will definitely be where we stay in Savannah in the future!

05/20/09

We loved our stay at the Marshall House and would definitely like to stay the next time that we are in Savannah. The inn was beautiful and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony at night. The front desk service and the bellman service were outstanding!

05/15/09

From stepping out of my car at the curb, throughout our stay, we were treated so wonderfully!! Everything was as good or better than I expected! We will definitely come again!!

04/27/09

I would recommend Marshall House to everyone coming to Savannah. We had stayed the previous few days in Charleston and we were very disappointed with our hotel there which we had also chosen on the internet so we were concerned about our choice of Marshall House. However it turned out to be a wonderful choice. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the rooms very comfortable and the location perfect. I will certainly recommend it to my friends who are visiting Savannah later in the year.

04/13/09

We had a great trip! The front desk staff, especially Courtney and Shelia, did a wonderful job. They answered all of our questions and made the reservations to the restaurants also. The room was very nice- large, quiet, and romantic. We will definitely stay here again!

04/03/09

Morgan made our stay amazing by upgrading us to the Juliette Gordon-Low Suite - her consideration for making the surprise birthday present for my husband extra special was VERY much appreciated. We had balloons in the room attached to a card with signatures from the staff - a very nice, thoughtful touch. The concierge was very helpful and friendly and made booking dinner at 45 Bistro a breeze. We loved the Marshall House - the room was beautiful and clean and very well kept. We will definitely recommend it to friends and family if they are planning a trip to Savannah.

03/14/09

We liked our stay in the Marshall Inn and felt very much "at home". The location was excellent and the employee we remember best was "Sheila" the concierge. She was very helpful and had good advises. Too bad we were 2 weeks too early with our stay since the blooming bushes/dogwoods/magnolias were just starting.

03/12/09

My girlfriend and I arrived to celebrate her birthday, and do a girl's weekend. We could not have been more pleased with the wonderful service and hospitality that the Marshall Inn provided for us. I would like to specifically recognize the following staff members: Kyle, Jordan, Morgan, and Carlton. They were always available, friendly, and thoroughly professional. We will return!

03/09/09

The Marshall House is a lovely place to stay, particularly for anyone interested in history. I appreciated the old world feel combined with modern conveniences.

02/16/09

I cannot say enough positive things about our stay at The Marshall House in Savannah. The decor, services, location and price were outstanding, but beyond the beauty and comfort of the inn, was the extraordinary staff who welcomed us and looked after us with great care during our stay. Morgan at the front desk was a font of information about the history of Savannah, as well as where to find the best southern cooking, a late-night drug store, and other things we were seeking. Unfortunately, while there, I got sick and had to go to the hospital. Morgan facilitated everything: putting us in touch with an admitting nurse at Memorial hospital, calling our inn in Charleston to cancel our reservation (she knew the desk staff there), and arranging to extend our reservation at The Marshall House. More surprising was the touching concern of other staff. As I left my room a maid making up another room stepped into the hall to tell me she hoped I would feel better. When I returned a parking attendant shyly came up to me to tell me he was glad to see me back again. I had had no interactions with either of these people before, yet they knew who I was and wanted to offer their sympathy. How remarkable to find such thoughtful, hospitable and caring service. The Marshall House should be a bench mark for other hotels and inns in best practices on all counts!

02/15/09

We fully enjoyed our stay. The staff was welcoming and extremely friendly and helpful. The room was perfect. It was everything we expected and more. We will definitely return to visit again and have recommended your hotel to several of our friends already. We particularly want to mention the following people who provided us with such amazing care during our stay: Morgan Williams who assisted us at the reception desk on several occasions. Armando, who assisted with our bags and was very courteous and friendly every time we passed thru the lobby. The valet who assisted us upon check out offered to take our picture for us under the hotel sign (name has escaped us at the moment). You have an incredible staff and we fully enjoyed every aspect of the experience provided. We look forward to visiting you again. THANK YOU!!

01/23/09

I fell in love with The Marshall House. Morgan and Brandon (just to name a few) were so helpful! The hotel was amazing, from the outside to the room, the concierge service to the valet parking. I cannot say enough good things about the Marshall House.

01/16/09

The moment we arrived, we were struck by how personable the staff at Marshall House is. There was an obvious difference between the scripted friendliness at most hotels and the genuine warmth at your Inn. Someone is making great hiring choices and cultivating a culture of excellence at Marshall House. We would like to mention Kyle specifically who greeted us upon check-in and helped us to our rooms.

01/14/09

This was a lovely hotel. All of the employees certainly made you feel welcome! I especially enjoyed the nightly wine and cheese. The hotel has a very "homey" feel to it, as you come down the staircase into the lobby. I have already raved about the hotel to my family members, and I'm sure they will be staying with you soon, as they come to Savannah frequently for business. Thanks to your guest service personnel, we were able to get into out desired restaurants on short notice.

12/25/08

Thank you Marshall House for a wonderful stay. Your hospitality, service, and recommendations made our holiday trip a memorable one. Well before we even checked in, your concierge Sheila, worked with us to help secure dinner reservations for Christmas in Savannah. That level of service is extremely rare and truly set the tone for our stay. Sheila also had valuable tips on things to do and places to eat, a we took her up on several of them during our short visit. She sets the standard for an exceptional concierge. The rest of the staff was also quite friendly and helpful.

11/19/08

Your hotel oozed warmth, character and charm! We absolutely loved our stay!

10/22/08

Wow! What a beautiful hotel! The location was wonderful, the parking was reasonable. The Staff was extremely nice. Jordan the bellman, was exceptional! If we had any questions, he had the answers and was very pleasant about answering our questions. Armando, was also very nice and informative. The wine and cheese gathering was great! I would gladly stay at the Marshall house if we come back to Savannah!

10/05/08

This was our first trip to Savannah and we thoroughly enjoyed The Marshall House. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and very helpful without being intrusive. The location for the tourist activities was convenient and the front desk couldn't have been more helpful with suggestions for sightseeing, reservations for tours and restaurants, etc. We would definitely return again and again.

10/03/08

Our stay at the Marshall House was excellent. The room was beautiful and the location was ideal. We especially would like to comment on the outstanding service we received from the bell men...specifically Carleton and Jordan. They were both very pleasant and attentive. They represent what we have come to expect from "Southern Hospitality" and really made our stay that much more enjoyable. Thanks for the wonderful weekend.
